Our agricultural lands, forests, grounds and seas are being sacrificed for money and profit.

Nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric energy plants that are vandalizing our lives are being built with the excuse of energy need, and this time it is Gerze's turn to take its share from this extermination. We have been taking a stand against Anadolu Group's thermal power plant in Gerze for 3 years now. But Anadolu Group is proceeding non-compliantly. As you may know, they were in Yaykıl Village on September 5th in order to explore the area along with the law enforcement officers, and they encountered an honorable resistance from people in Gerze, and Yaykıl.

They still need to get a positive environmental impact assessment report before the end of December 21st in order to proceed. We shall not let them have it. Join us to shout at Gerze Cumhuriyet Square that we do not want these plants there, and we will not let anyone build them.
 
This thermal power plant will be a precursor for many others to follow. You will either be a mere spectator to these attempts, or step in and take a stand! If we stick together, they can not prevent rivers from flowing freely, they can not exile us from our lands and villages, they can not pollute our air, land and water, they can not kill our fish. They CAN NOT build them, if we stick together! We invite you to join us at Gerze Cumhuriyet Square to protect our natural resources, and defend the most incontestable right: right to live!
