DİPTEN GELEN DALGAYI BİRLİKTE ÖRGÜTLEYELİM... / LET’S ORGANIZE THE GROUND SWELL AHEAD OF THE FORTHCOMING CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT IN COPENHAGEN

Küresel iklim değişikliği bildiğimiz havaları silip sürüyor. Tohumlarımızı yok ediyor, tarlalarımızı gdolara tutsak ediyor. Fosil yakıtlarla sular yok ediliyor. Sellerin, kuraklığın, soluduğumuz havadaki salgın hastalıkların sebebini biliyoruz. Kentleri boğan, insanları alışveriş merkezleriyle yok eden, bu pespaye hijyen kültürünü, bu dünyayı tanıyoruz. İşte bu iklim değişikliği dünyası karşısında biraz daha dişimizi sıkmamız isteniyor. Yeşile boyanmış dosyalarından yeni tüketim reçeteleri çıkarıp, bir kez daha krizi aşmaktan söz ediyorlar. İklim değişikliğini karbon pazarlığına indirgeyen devletler ve STK’lar Kyoto Protokolü ile vaat ettiklerini bile sağlayamamışken, sürece Kopenhag’da başka bir ivme vermek niyetiyle Aralık ayında buluşuyor. İklim krizini çözme iddiasındaki egemen siyasetçilerin bayatlamış vaatlerine kanmıyoruz. Petrol ve kömür madenciliğinden söz etmeksizin sera gazları "uçuculuğunda" egemenlerin sunduğu çerçeve, iklim değişikliği sorununu görünmez kılan ideolojik bir yönlendirmedir. 

Bizler, küresel ekonomik krizi de kapsayıp aşan büyük dalgayı yani kapitalizmin yarattığı ekolojik krizi sistemin acınası can yeleklerine dolanarak beklemenin bir faydasının olmayacağının farkındayız. İklim değişikliği sorunu “verimlilik ve enerji kaynak çeşitliliği /dönüşümü” ile çözülebilecek tali bir sorun değildir. Kapitalizmin yapısal bir sorunudur. Bu nedenle sadece liberal ekonominin sınırları içinde bir öneriler kümesi ile bu sorun aşılamaz.  Gündelik, yaşamsal alışkanlıklarımız, gerçeklik ve beklentilerimiz, tüketim toplumunun her boyutu ile sorgulanması, kapitalist üretim tarzının değiştirilmesi, devrilmesi gerektiği aşikârdır.  

Şirketlerin kârlarını çoğaltmayı savunan ve sermayenin ‘büyümesini’ canlı yaşamının üstünde tutan egemen piyasacı yaklaşımın hegemonyasında şekillenecek bir ‘çözüm’ün şimdiye kadar olduğu gibi treni sallamaktan başka bir etkisinin olmayacağını biliyoruz. Sermayenin iklim krizinin maliyetini tüm krizlerde olduğu gibi yine doğaya, emekçilere, yoksullara, kadınlara, ezilenlere fatura etmeye çalışacağını biliyoruz. Konferansta soluduğumuz havanın dahi alınır-satılır-kirletilebilir bir metaya dönüşmesinden endişe ediyoruz. Bu nedenle borsalarında satılığa çıkmış vicdanlarına, tarihin acımasız sayfalarına mahkûm ettiğimiz egemenlere, çektiğimiz acıları unutmadığımızı haykırmalıyız.

Aralık ayının başında BM çatısı altında Kopenhag’da gerçekleşecek 15. Taraflar Konferansı halkları bir gün dönümünün eşiğine, insan ve doğanın geleceğine dair önemli bir karar aşamasına taşıyacak bir süreci başlatacak. Yaşanan krizin faturasını yoksullara ve doğaya kesmeye hazırlanan egemenler çağımızı sürükledikleri felâketin faturasını da kesmek için toplanadursunlar, bizler heyecanlarımızı ateşe verelim, ekolojik krize karşı yeni bir dünya kurmak için yollara düşelim.

Bu çağrı  küresel egemenlerin iklim değişikliği senaryosuna karşı büyütülecek bir protestonun çağrısı değildir yalnızca. Bu adalete, eşitliğe, kır ve kent emekçilerine, ezilenlere yani yaşanan krizin tüm mağdurlarına yeni bir dünyanın kurulması için çalışmaya yapılan çağrıdır. Bu çağrı, iklim krizinin salt atmosferik bir değişimin değil, yaşatılan küresel bir yıkımın veçhesi olması nedeniyle enternasyonal bir çağrıdır. Bu çağrı kolektif çalışmanın derin nefeslerini ciğerlerinde hisseden, gücünü emekten, doğadan, tohumdan, topraktan, yaşamdan yana yapanlara yapılan çağrıdır. Aralık ayı boyunca güce güç katacaklara, kor ateşini harlayacaklara çağrıdır. Bu süreçte yeryüzündeki tüm ezilenler egemenlerin politikalarını desteklemek, egemenler arası bir kanada destek olmak ya da hükümet ve çokuluslu şirketleri ikna etmeye yönelik STÖ lobiciliği yapmak için değil iklim krizine karşı kendi çözümlerini seslendirmek için alanlara çıkacak.

Dünya İklim Pazarına karşı dalgayı birlikte üretmek ve yönetmek için bir çağrıdır bu.

İklim değişiminden en olumsuz etkilenecek coğrafyalardan birinde yaşamakta olan bizler tüm dünyada Aralık ayı boyunca gerçekleşecek bu muhalefet dalgasına sesimizi katmak, iklim krizinin çözümünün ancak toplumsal eşitlik ve adalet ilkeleri çerçevesinde olabileceğini haykırmak, dipten gelen bu dalgayı örgütlemek için sizleri yapabileceklerimizi tartışmaya çağırıyoruz. Dipten gelen dalga, Türkiye’yi enerji koridoruna çevirerek, HES’leri, Çimento Fabrikalarını, katı atık yakma tesislerini, termik santralleri bu ülkeye reva görenlere karşı direnecek ortak cephenin adıdır. Dipten gelen dalga, nükleer enerjiye karşı direnenlerin, gıdaları çalınan yoksulların, tohumları ve toprakları işgal edilen köylülerin, genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalarla bedenleri ele geçirilen kentlilerin, baz istasyonlarına karşı sağlıklarını savunanların, otomobile boğulmuş şehirlerde uzayan kuyrukların, evsizlerin; altın madenciliğine karşı bu dünya bizim diyenlerin yaşamı yeniden kurmak için mücadele edenlerin ortak zeminidir.  

Kentleri ve kırı birbirinden kopartarak yaşanmaz kılanlara karşı havayı, suyu, toprağı ve emeği özgürleştirmek için şimdi diptekileri bir araya gelmeye çağırıyoruz. Kendi dayanışma ağlarımızı kurmak, kendimizi besleyebilecek hale gelmemiz bir fantazi değil bir zorunluluktur. Otomobile dayalı tüketime karşı başka bir şehir mümkün demek için, suyu, tohumu ve gıdası ellerinden alınan bir yaşama mahkûm olmadığımızı, kendi enerjimizi yaratabileceğimizi göstermek için dipten gelen dalgayı örgütlemeye çağırıyoruz. Hes’lere, termik santrallere, nükleer enerjiye mahkûm olmadığımızı haykırmak için; Kentlerimizin eteklerini paketleme endüstrisi haline gelen TOKİ’lerden kurtulabileceğimizi, yaşamımızı otobanlardan geri talep edip kendi sebzemizi meyvemizi yetiştirebileceğimizi, yeme, içme, giyinme alışkanlıklarımızı değiştirebileceğimizi göstermek için bir araya gelmeye çağırıyoruz. Kapitalizmin üretim ve tüketim alışkanlıklarına karşı direnenleri bir araya gelmeye çağırıyoruz. İklim değişikliği sorununu tam da bu hattan inşa edebilmek, gdolara dur demek, yürünecek yolu yaratmak için bir araya gelmeye çağırıyoruz.

LET’S ORGANIZE THE GROUND SWELL AHEAD OF THE FORTHCOMING CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT IN COPENHAGEN

Today, what’s more forbidding than ignoring the fact of global warming is ‘pretending to solve’ the global warming problem. Following the G-20 and IMF-WB summits, another meeting with all doors closed to people is being held under UN framework, this time to discuss global climate change crisis. Those who assume that we will not be able to see the liables because of the dazzling magic show and those who complain about climate change without even mentioning urbans, agriculture policies, wars, cancellation of the debts of poor countries, provision of labourers’ effort, migrations, unemployment, social health and education policies, will once again invite us to the glimmering of the promised world.

Global climate change is sweeping out the climates that we know. It has been destroying our seeds and confining our farms to GMOs. Water is being destroyed by fossil fuels. We know the reasons for floods, drought and epidemics in the air that we breathe. We are familiar to this world, this culture of hygiene which chokes cities to death and destroys people with shopping centres. This is the world of climate change against which we are asked to take our courage in both hands some more. Once again, they are talking about overcoming the crisis, by taking new recipes for consumption out of their green-washed files. Not even having accomplished what they promised with Kyoto Protocol, the states and NGOs which demote climate change to carbon trade are meeting in Copenhagen in December to accelerate the process in a new way. We are not fooled by stale promises of dominant politicians who claim to solve the climate crisis. Without mentioning oil and coal mining, the ‘volatile’ framework, just like fossil fuels, proposed by the hegemony is an ideological manipulation which makes the global warming problem invisible.

We are aware that it’s no use wearing the miserable life vests of the system and waiting for the great wave which includes and goes beyond the global economic crisis, that’s to say, the ecologic crisis created by capitalism. The climate change problem is not a secondary problem which can be overcome by efficiency and variation /change in energy reserves. It is a structural problem of capitalism. Therefore, this problem can not be overcome by a group of advices restricted in the limits of liberal economy. It’s evident that our daily routines,our lifestyles, our realities and expectations and the consumption society need to be questioned in all their aspects and the capitalist mode of production must be revolutionized and changed.

We know that a solution that will be formed under the hegemony of the ruling market-based approach, which aims to maximize corporate profits and cares about capital growth rather than biological life, will have no effect but to keep beating the dead horse and spin our wheels, as we did till now. We know the capital will try once again to make the environment, the labour, the poor, the oppressed and women pay the price for climate change. We are worried that even the air we breathe will turn into a purchasable, saleable and pollutable commodity  at the conference. So, we should shout out to the ruling ones whom we prison to the pitiless pages of history and to their conscience put up for sale in their climate markets, that we still bear in mind the woes that we have experienced.

The 15th Conference of Parties that will take place under the UN framework at the beginning of December in Copenhagen will launch a process that will take people to the eve of a solstice and lead them to make a crucial decision on the future of the human being and nature. While the ruling ones, who are preparing to make the environment and the poor pay the price for the current crisis, are meeting to make us also pay for the disaster which they lead our time to, let us ignite our excitement and go on our way to build a new world against ecologic crisis.

This call is not just for a protest to be raised against the global rulers’ script for climate change. This is also a call to urban and rural laborers and the oppressed people, that’s to say, all the victims of the ongoing crisis, to struggle for building equality, justice and a new world. This is an international call as the climate crisis is not only an aspect of atmospheric change but also an aspect of a global destruction that we are forced to experience. This is a call to those who feel the deep breaths of collective work in their lungs and who choose to put their effort for labor, nature, seeds, land and life. It’s a call to those who will strengthen the common strength and will flare up its ember fire throughout December. During this period, the oppressed all around the world will show up, not in order to support the rulers’ policies or back up any group among the rulers or be busy with NGO lobbying to convince governments and multinationals; but to announce their own solutions to climate crisis.

This is a call to co-produce and co-ordinate the swell against the world climate market.

Living in one of the regions to be worst-affected by climate change, we invite you to discuss what we could do to add our voice to this opposition swell all around the world in December, to shout out that the solution to climate crisis can only be on the basis of social equality and justice and to organize this ‘groundswell’. This groundswell is the name for the common front that will fight back against those who, by turning Turkey into an energy corridor, deem this country worthy of hydroelectric plants, cement factories, solid waste incineration and thermal plants. The groundswell is the common ground for those who fight back against nuclear energy, those who defend their health against base stations,  those who claim against gold mining that this is ‘their’ world, the poor whose food is stolen; the peasants whose land and seeds are occupied; the urban people whose bodies are captured by GMOs; the lingering queues in cities choked by automobiles, the homeless and those who struggle to rebuild life.

We are now calling the ones in the bottom to free the air, the water, the land and the labor against those who make our lives uninhabitable by separating urban and rural life. It’s not a fantasy but a must to build our own solidarity networks and to be able to feed ourselves. We are calling to organize the ground swell to say that another world is possible against automobile-based consumption and to prove that we are not bound to a life where the water, the food and the seeds are captured and that we can create our own energy. We are calling to come together to shout out that we aren’t bound to hydroelectric, thermal and nuclear plants and to show that we can get rid of TOKİ, which has become an industry, marketing the outskirts of our cities and that we can claim our lives back from highways, grow our own vegetables and fruit and change our nourishment and clothing habits. We are calling those who resist the production and consumption habits of capitalism to come together. We are calling to come together so that we can handle the climate change problem on this very prespective and build a way to walk together.
